James J. DuHamel, 93
former Babylon resident

James J. DuHamel, of Punta Gorda, Florida and formerly of Brooklyn and Babylon, died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at the age of 93. Mr. DuHamel was an assistant treasurer of the American Stock Exchange and served as treasurer to the North Babylon School District. He was a proud member of the North Babylon Fire Department and the Babylon Tuna Club.

Mr. DuHamel is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Smith. Surviving him are his children, James J. DuHamel, Jr., Paul DuHamel, William DuHamel, Philip DuHamel, Dorothy Cofone and Elizabeth Haslam, 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial was said Thursday, October 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda. The family received friends at the Port Charlotte Chapel of the Kays-Ponger/Royal Palm Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd. with a scripture service being said October 2, 2002.
