(BaCCA) holds annual art exhibition at Babylon Town Hall Annex


Babylon Citizens Council On the Arts (BaCCA) held its annual art exhibition at the Babylon Town Hall Annex during the week of June 9 displaying over 200 pieces of art in seven categories. Cash prizes were awarded at a Friday evening reception with Town Supervisor Steven Bellone and BaCCA’s Executive Director Sandy Nash making the presentations. The award winning artists in oils and acrylics, first, Edward Bates; second, Judith Davidson; third, Charles Ambrosio and honorable mention, Miriam Aaronson. the winners for watercolors were: first, Carlina Valenti; second Dolores Lennon; third William Kuchler and honorable Pam Giarrusso. The winners for mixed media were: first, Frank Musto; second, Jason Bencivenga; third Jason Bencivenga and honorable mention Joseph Scinto. The winners for graphics were: first, Jackie Zagon; second Genevieve Jezick; third Sandee Larsen and honorable mention Anthony D’Avino. The adults student winners were: first, Fred Blackburn; second, Dolores Munoz; third, Debra Bonewald and honorable mention, Robert Galasso. Student winners under 18 were: first, Melanie Perry; second, William Kennelly; third, Abigail Hubert and honorable mention Karli Niehoff. The best in show was Mickey Frome. The viewers’ choice award went to Dolores Munoz. The supervisor’s award which is selected by the Town Supervisor each year was presented to Gordon Dexter for his piece Fire Island Lighthouse Nine Eleven.
