Former Babylon resident Marilyn Kurtz

Longtime former Babylonian and devoted mother Marilyn Mae Kurtz died March 24, 2008 after a long illness in South Bend, Indiana. She was 73.

Born in Queens to Frank and Edna (Green) Smith, she lived in Babylon for many years, before moving to New Paris, Indiana. According to her family, she was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Fibromyalgia Groups of Elkhart, Indiana.

Mrs. Kurtz leaves behind her children: Marguerite and her husband Edward, Dorothy-Butchie and her husband Mike, John and his wife Candi, Patrick and his wife Terri, George and his wife Dawn, Peggy and her husband Monroe, Alice and her husband Larry, Patricia and her husband Brian and Tammy. Twelve grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive her as does her sister Dorothy Bilbo, four nieces, and other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, her grandson Nicholas and her brothers, Jim and William.

She reposed at the Bubb Funeral Home in Mishawaka, Indiana on March 28, 2008. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
