Captree School hosts Wellness Fair

The Captree Elementary School in West Islip recently held a Health and Wellness Fair for students and staff, designed to encourage a lifetime of healthy living, as well as allay children's fears of being in a hospital. Coordinated by Captree school nurse Patricia Reimer and Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center personnel, the all-day event featured proper eating, exercise, an anti-bullying campaign, anatomy at a child's level, proper care of teeth, health games, and more.

Shown with an Award of Appreciation for the Medical Center, left to right, are West Islip Assistant- Superintendent Lou Zocchia, Good Samaritan Vice President Charles Bove, Ms. Reimer, Captree Principal John Mullins, West Islip Health Director Wayne Shierant, and student representatives dressed in emergency room garb.
