Stephanie O'Halloran, R.N. and Babylon Village resident

Longtime Babylon Village resident and registered nurse Stephanie O'Halloran died May 3, 2008. She was 79 years old and was dedicated to both her family and her career of helping others.

Born in Pennsylvania, she lived in Brooklyn before moving to Babylon Vi l - lage, where she lived for 45 years.

Mrs. O'Halloran graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing in 1951 and went on to work at Southside Hospital for more than 25 years. According to her family, she helped bring the New York State Nurses Organization Union to the Bay Shore Hospital.

She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Timothy J., whom she met on the Atlantic City boardwalk; her children: Timothy S., Stephen T. and Sean M.; her siblings: Maryann and Rosemarie; her grandchildren: Marie, Emily and Patrick.

A private cremation was held on May 5, 2008 followed by burial of cremains on May 9, 2008 at Byzantine cemetery in Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.
