HEARD IT ON THE GRAPEVINE HE DOES A GREAT JOB AS OUR VILLAGE ATTORNEY and he's an inspiring musician. Yes, Joel Sikowitz and his band delighted the large crowd at the Babylon Library on April 27th as they played Broadway hits, the music of Rogers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter and many others. Everyone was in a dancing mood, and just loved the beautiful music. Some of those enjoyed the concert included: Libby Orr, Fran Pasch, Lucy Trumble, Mary Rinklin, Marily Winters, Nan Hanaway, Marilyn Verschurren, Mary Freund (the best dancer in town), Joe Leone and his daughter Renee, Gene Turner and Elizabeth Karoly and more. They didn't dance at the concert, but they sure enjoyed listening. Let's hope we'll have more programs like this. Kudos to all who planned a perfect Sunday afternoon in the Village. THEY'RE BACK! The Village has seemed quiet for the past month. That's because a few of our residents have made the annual trek to New Smyrna for the month of April. The list has grown much smaller, but we missed them a lot. Some of those back in the area after a wonderful vacation are: Nan Hanaway, Sue Howell, Joan and Bud St. John, Ellie Ryan and Joe Leone. They all had a great time, but are happy to be back in our beautiful Village. QUESTION: WHAT BIG EVENT TOOK PLACE IN OUR VILLAGE IN 1942? ANSWER: THE CADMAN FREDERICK FAMILY PRESENTED THE VILLAGE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL BEACH ON THE BAY AT THE END OF LITTLE EAST NECK ROAD. Drove down there last week, and the place looks great - very well kept. The swings and slides, etc. are all in place just waiting for the little ones to use them. The whole community thanks the Frederick family for their generosity. This little beach club will delight in the residents' of Frederick Shores for years to come. "TEA AT TWO" the annual tea party held by the Methodist Women was held last Saturday afternoon with a large crowd attending - it was a packed house, with delicious refreshments - scones, jam, tea sandwiches, etc. Neil O'Connell played the piano which always adds to the ambiance. Joy Torrey, Ann Cuneo, Gayle Askoff and Noeline Giddons were among the ladies who enjoyed this popular event. BASEBALL STARS COMING TO TOWN.
