Coast Guard Auxiliary boating safety course

Flotilla 1-5 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will hold a one day Boating Safety course, Sat., June 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Surfside 3, 750 Montauk Hwy, Copiague. The exam will be given the same day and passing students will receive certificatesand wallet cards documenting their completion of the course. This documentation satisfies NYS personal watercraft and young boater requirements. There is a cost for books and materials.

Young Boaters Course will be offered in two sessions: Saturday, June 7 and June 14, at Fire Island Lighthouse a.m. to 1 p.m., both days.

The Vessel Safety Inspection Station will be makeing safety checks Sat., June 7 and Sun., June 8, at Surfside Marina, South Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.
