On June 22,  10:30 a.m. through 4  p.m., the combined collections of historic military vehicles from members of the Long Island Military Vehicle Club and the New York Military Vehicle Club will be on display at the American Airpower Museum, 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale, while the museum's C-47 D-Day Airborne paratrooper plane takes to the sky.

"These vehicles capture the grit and determination of the American G.I. who confronted and defeated the Axis powers during World War II. From jeeps and wheeled anti aircraft guns, to weapons carriers and military fire trucks that raced across runways to douse the flames enveloping crashed bombers, this exhibit will allow the public to get up close and personal with this historic vehicles," stated museum vice president Jim Vocell.

Vocell will be the pilot for the C-47 during the daylong presentation, providing an aerial context for the historic military vehicles. Airborne reenactors will also be on hand, briefing those participating in the D-Day living history program offered by the American Airpower Museum.
