Babylon Little League Memorial Day competition

Ryan Matthews had the longest hit of the day
On Sat., May 24, the Babylon Little League held its annual Memorial Day Weekend Skills Competition at the Locust Avenue Fields. It was a beautiful sunny day and the turnout of boys, girls and parents set a record.

The competition in baseball and softball was a combination of hitting, running and fielding. There was also a batting derby competition for the Moms so they could show off their batting skills.

First place winners received six tickets to a Ducks game. Second and third-place winners received $25 gift certificates to Murphy's Sports Shack. The Moms received six Broadway show tickets.

A special thank you goes out to Kevin Going for running the softball and Ken Rende and Nick Giampietro for running the baseball competitions. Here are your winners:
