W. Islip resident given research honor
Dr. Charles F. Howlett of West Islip, an associate professor in Graduate Programs, Education Division, was recently awarded the Molloy College Research Achievement Award during a dinner ceremony at Molloy.
Dr. Howlett is the author or co-author of eight books and over two hundred articles in scholarly journals and popular magazines. Molloy selected him, along with biology Assistant Professor Maureen Sanz, to receive the college's highest honor in the area of research and publications. Dr. Howlett was singled out for his numerous writings in the areas of American history and issues related to war and peace. He is also an Air Force Academy admissions liaison officer and the nuclear-biological-chemical officer for the 88th Bde of the New York Army Guard attached to the famous "fighting 69th."
