Former Islip resident Sal Rizzuto Former longtime Islip resident Salverio "Sal" Rizzuto died May 17, 2008 Albany, New York. He was 89. For more than 45 years he lived in Islip Terrace with his wife Elizabeth. The couple moved to Albany to be closer to their son in October, 2006. For many years Mr. Rizzuto worked for Fairchild Aviation in Farmingdale and as a quality control inspector for Germaine Monteil. According to his family, he was a hard worker who loved his family and had a great sense of humor. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Pusteri Rizzuto; his children: Angela Brigiotti of Shirley, Marie Ragone and her husband John of Ft. Myers, Florida; Dr. Dominick Rizzuto and his wife Lynda of Albany, New York and Gustave and his wife Cheryl of West Monroe, New York. He was also survived his seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Rizzuto reposed at the Hans Funeral Homer in Albany, New York on May 20, 2008. Private interment followed in the Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn.
