Police seek witnesses to fatal motorcycle accident
Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist from North Babylon this morn­ing. Christopher Regula, 22, of 60 Higgins Street, was riding a Honda motorcycle northbound on Route 231 in Dix Hills and collided with a 2000 Bering dump truck that was making a left turn onto southbound Route 231 from Expressway Drive North at 7:04 a.m.

Regula was transported by Dix Hills Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the dump truck, Humberto Calua, 22, of Medford, was charged with Unlicensed Op­eration of a Motor Vehicle. Calua was not injured in the crash. Motor Carrier Safety Section is conducting an inspection of the dump truck, which is owned by Clear Concrete Corporation in Selden. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
