Gold Star mother honored by Sen. Johnson
      State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), recently honored Gold Star Mother Dorine Kenney of Bay Shore as a 2008 New York State Senate Woman of Distinction. Kenney founded the Jacob's Light Foundation in memory of her beloved son, Spc. Jacob Fletcher.

      Andrew Proto, son of Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Proto of Babylon Village, recently graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, where he was a member of the varsity crew. Proto's boat had the distinction of medaling in ev­ery regatta they participated in this season.
