Police seek public's help in apprehending bank robber

 Suffolk Police are asking for the public's assistance in apprehending a man who robbed the Roslyn Savings Bank branch in West Babylon yesterday.

The bank is located in the Pathmark Supermarket at 531 Montauk Hwy., and police said that a white male, described as approximately 50-years-old,  5-feet, 10-inches tall and about 180 pounds approached a teller at the bank and made verbal demands for cash, threatening to use a gun if the teller did not comply.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. The subject was wearing dark sunglasses, a black t-shirt, blue jean shorts and white sneakers. He had dark hair with some grey in it.

 The teller complied with the robber's demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The robber fled the supermarket in an unknown direction.
